What is Watch Safari?

Watch Safari is an exclusive and immersive week-long programme organised by GMT magazine to to bring its readers closer to watch brands. This trip is specially designed for 18 watch enthusiasts, offering them the unique opportunity to discover the most prestigious Swiss watch manufactures.

From 26 October to 1 November 2025, participants will travel from Geneva to Neuchâtel, passing through iconic locations such as the Vallée de Joux, visiting renowned maisons such as Breguet, Breitling, Cartier, Chopard, Montblanc and TAG Heuer , but also niche brands such as Bovet, L’Epée 1839 and Lorige, not forgetting the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.

This watchmaking safari offers a full programme including private visits, meetings with exceptional craftspeople, workshops, tastings and convivial moments. Everything during the week is included: meals, accommodation in 4 stars hotels (Fraser Suites Geneva and Beaulac Neuchâtel) transport.

Sunday 26th October

Check-in at Fraser Suites Geneva and Welcome Dinner


Ideal for getting to know the other safari participants and the GMT editorial team, you will enjoy a cocktail dinner near the hotel, where organizers will go over the week's program with you.

Free time after dinner: take a stroll through Geneva's Old Town, adjacent to the hotel, or simply relax in your 45m² suite at Fraser Suites Geneva.









Monday 27th October

Chopard Watchmaking and High Jewelry, Breguet Manufacture, Lorige Cocktail

Chopard is globally renowned for its watches, such as the Mille Miglia, and its jewelry, as well as for crafting the Palme d'Or for the Cannes Film Festival. Despite its worldwide recognition, it remains a family-owned business, and its leaders will personally welcome us.

After a private tour of its watchmaking and jewelry workshops, followed by a lunch at the manufacture, we will head to the Vallée de Joux for an exclusive visit to the Breguet manufacture, celebrating its 250th anniversary. Discover how the tourbillon was invented!

To wrap up the day, we will shift to a different setting with a meeting with the founder of the niche brand Lorige, immersed in a unique automotive-inspired universe.

Tuesday 28th October

Jaeger-LeCoultre, Bovet

Visit to the century-old Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture and an immersive journey into the watchmaking history of the Vallée de Joux. Then, we head to the Château de Môtiers, the historic home of Bovet, where the owner will welcome us for a light lunch and an exclusive presentation of the brand’s workshops and extraordinary timepieces. Bovet, a winner of the Aiguille d’Or at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, promises an unforgettable experience.

Then, we depart for Neuchâtel for dinner and stay overnight at the Hôtel Beaulac in Neuchâtel.



Wednesday 29th October

Cartier, L’Epée 1839

Prepare to be amazed by this double visit to the world’s second-largest watchmaking group in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Cartier. First, an impressive, ultra-efficient manufacture, followed by the Maison des Métiers d’Art, a pinnacle of artisanal creativity, where we will have the privilege of enjoying lunch.

In the afternoon, the highly creative L’Epée 1839, a symbol of the revival of clocks and mechanical objects, will welcome us into its workshops. In the evening, its CEO will join us for dinner at the Beaulac, sharing the story of why LVMH chose to invest in the company.

Thursday 30th October

Montblanc-Minerva, TAG Heuer


Among collectors' favorite manufactures, Minerva in Le Locle was acquired by Montblanc to strengthen its mechanical expertise. Its CEO will welcome us and explain this strategic move over a light lunch following our visit—an immersive dive into Swiss watchmaking history.

Right next door, we will then explore the avant-garde TAG Heuer manufacture and its museum, a winner of the Aiguille d’Or at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.

The day concludes with a surprise watchmaking-themed dinner in Neuchâtel, followed by an overnight stay at the Beaulac.


Friday 31st October

Breitling, Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève

Fasten your seatbelts! Performance and sustainability enthusiasts will love the visit to the Breitling manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds, a true symbol of modern watchmaking.

A complete change of scenery awaits us for lunch in a 17th-century farmhouse, preserved almost exactly as it was when the first farmer-watchmakers worked there.

In the afternoon, we return to Geneva to visit the latest exhibition of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.

Check-in at Fraser Suites Geneva, followed by a surprise closing dinner.
